Chairperson of Board of Trustees of Jokowi-Ma'ruf Supporters Bravo 5, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, views losing presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto's filing of a lawsuit in the Constitutional Court to contest election results as a good measure.

"I believe (the lawsuit) is a good step," Pandjaitan remarked at a gathering of Bravo 5 in Surabaya, Sunday evening.

Nonetheless, Pandjaitan opined that the legal process should not to be confounded by notions that ran contrary to the Constitution and Pancasila.

Pandjaitan further reiterated that differences in opinion should not trigger conflict or further worsen the situation that can create rifts in Indonesian society.

Prabowo-Sandi pair's National Winning Body (BPN) filed a lawsuit with the Constitutional Court alleging violations and fraud in the 2019 presidential election on Friday (May 24).

The General Elections Commission's (KPU's) final tally indicated a win for Incumbent President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and his running mate Ma'ruf Amin in the April 17 election by garnering 55.5 percent of the votes, outshining Prabowo-Sandi, who had bagged 44.5 of the votes.

Prabowo, however, has alleged that the election was rigged in favor of Jokowi and questioned the validity of over 17 million voters in the electoral rolls, the existence of money politics, precast ballots, data entry errors by the KPU, as well as his opponent exploiting the nation's resources to win the presidential race.
