The Central Jakarta General Election Committee (KPU) opened a special polling station (TPS) at the Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital to facilitate election voting for employees and patients at the hospital during the 2024 election.

"This hospital has a special TPS code, namely 901, intended for our employees and patients," the hospital's law and public relations manager, Uud Cahyono, stated on Wednesday.

Cahyono revealed that 235 people were on the Permanent Voter List (DPT) and 123 additional voters were registered at the hospital's TPS.

Cahyono explained that the first employees to be listed were those residing outside Jakarta, who on the day of the general election, must carry out their duties at the hospital.

"(This was) followed by the additional voter list that includes employees who already planned to vote here and the patients. We offer our patients to vote because they have their rights to cast their votes," he remarked.

He stated that election organizer officers (PPS) brought along voting equipment, such as ballot papers, voting booths, and nails, to each inpatient's room.

Siskawati, 66, one of the inpatients who participated in the general election, said she was still enthusiastic about voting despite being sick. Siskawati also expressed her hopes for the future president-elect.

"I hope all staple goods' prices will drop. All the best for this country," she stated.

The 2024 elections are being held to elect the president and vice president, members of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Regional Representatives Council (DPD), and Regional Legislative Councils (DPRD) at the provincial, city, and district levels, with a national level permanent voter list (DPT) of 204,807,222 voters.

Meanwhile, the three pairs of presidential-vice presidential candidates participating in this year's elections are Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar with official number 1; Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, official number 2; and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD, official number 3.

In accordance with KPU Regulation Number 3 of 2022, the national vote recapitulation for the 2024 Election is scheduled to take place from February 15 to March 20, 2024.
