Earlier, the KPU had prepared reserve ballot papers at each TPS amounting to 2 percent of the final voter list (DPT).
Vice President Ma'ruf Amin has asked the General Elections Commission (KPU) to anticipate any potential shortage of ballot papers in several regions, especially Jakarta, due to high voting interest among the public on Election Day.
"I hope the reserves for ballot papers are sufficient. However, I ask the KPU to anticipate this, especially in areas with a surge, such as Jakarta," he said on Monday.
He emphasized that the KPU needs to prepare additional ballot papers of more than 2 percent in areas or voting locations (TPS) that have the potential for a surge in voters, for example, from voters on the special voter list (DPK).
Earlier, the KPU had prepared reserve ballot papers at each TPS amounting to 2 percent of the final voter list (DPT).
The number of additional voter lists (DPTb) and DPK is an indicator of vulnerability at TPS.
The General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) has identified seven indicators of vulnerability seen most frequently at polling stations, which have the potential to affect Election Day on February 14, 2024.
Reflecting on the implementation of the previous election and reports from regional election supervisors, there were 125,224 TPS where the DPT did not meet the requirements, 119,796 TPS had additional voters (DPTb), 36,236 TPS had internet network problems, and 21,947 TPS were located near the homes of presidential candidates or vice presidential candidates and/or posts or houses of election campaign teams.
They were followed by 18,656 TPS with the potential to receive a special voters' list (DPK) and 10,974 TPS in disaster-prone areas.
The KPU has set February 14 as the date for the presidential and legislative member elections this year. However, overseas elections began on February 9.
The KPU has announced the names of three pairs of presidential-vice presidential candidates for the election — Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (official number 1), Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka (official number 2), and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD (official number 3).
