The National Police deployed 25 thousand mobile brigade (Brimob) personnel, who are members of Mantap Brata 2023-2024 Operation, to secure the 2024 elections amid the dynamic situation that might arise during and after the election.
Operational Head of the Mantap Brata Operation, Commissioner General Fadil Imran, stated that the security force comprised Brimob Nusantara and Sabhara Nusantara.
"For routine security operations of the Mantap Brata Operation in each regional police, we have 25 thousand Brimob personnel throughout Indonesia," he stated during a roll-call for the 2024 election security in Cikeas, West Java, on Wednesday.
Imran also noted that Brimob personnel have the qualifications in anti-riot or power-on-hand, search and rescue, drone troops, rapid response troops, anti-anarchists, and bomb disposal.
Apart from the Brimob troops at the level of the National Police Headquarters, Brimob troops for each regional and Sabhara police station were also readied, totaling around 4,500 personnel from all ranks.
"Then for the Brimob Corps in the contingency operations task force, we have prepared 3,500 personnel to be deployed," he noted.

Imran then stated that the roll-call was intended to ensure the personnel's readiness for the 2024 election.
"On February 14, the government will conduct a presidential election, followed by the counting period. The situation will be fluctuating," he stated.
Regarding the readiness of the National Police ahead of the election, Imran spoke of having checked the regional police throughout the country to review the security system at election organizers and certain objects, such as success team offices and political party offices, which needed to be secured.
For the 2024 election, his side is carrying out three operations: the Mantap Brata Operation, NCS Polri Operation, and Contingency Operation.
"Contingency operation is being prepared to handle disturbance during the election period, such as the security and social order and natural disasters, and high disturbances, such as terrorism or social conflict," he explained.
According to Imran, the National Police will prepare preventive efforts to prevent escalated conflict with a humanist approach to maintain a peaceful situation.
