The people must be involved; the people must not left behind because the owner of this country is the peopleVice presidential candidate number 1, Muhaimin Iskandar, highlighted the need to involve the community in Indonesia's development during the second vice presidential debate here on Sunday.
"The people must be involved; the people must not left behind because the owner of this country is the people. The government is only the implementer for this country's owner," Cak Imin, as he is known, said.
He emphasized that national development and policies must be based on legal justice, climate justice, ecological justice, intergenerational justice, agrarian justice, and social justice.
Speaking on the impact of the climate crisis and environmental disaster in Indonesia, he assessed that environmental ethics and a balance between humans and nature are needed to overcome the crisis.
"Climate crisis has not been handled seriously; it is even shown that the budget to tackle the climate crisis is far below the budget for other programs," Cak Imin said.
The presidential and vice presidential candidate pair Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar is raising a big theme of "Just and Prosperous Indonesia for All" for their vision, missions, and work programs. The pair's missions are outlined through the "eight paths of change."
