Presidential candidate number 2 Prabowo Subianto pledged to significantly elevate the living standards of soldiers, police officers, and civil servants if he is elected as the Indonesian President in the 2024 General Elections.

"I will also strive to significantly improve the welfare and life quality of soldiers, police officers, and civil servants, significantly," he remarked in the final session of the third presidential debate in Istora Senayan, Jakarta, on Sunday evening.

In his speech, he said he would ensure that the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and National Police (Police) would continue to directly answer to the Indonesian President if he is elected.

He then extended his appreciation to all state apparatus for their dedication, saying that they have been striving to help Indonesia in its journey toward becoming a developed country.

Prabowo also reiterated his commitment to continuing the implementation of Indonesia's independent and active foreign policy while maintaining good relations and forging economic cooperation with all countries.

"If I am elected as the president, I will surely strive to drive Indonesia to continue the implementation of the independent and active foreign policy, maintain neutrality, respect all countries, and become a good neighbor to them," he affirmed.

After the presidential debate on December 12, 2023 and the vice presidential debate on December 22, 2023, the General Elections Commission (KPU) held the third debate, which carried the themes of defense, security, international relations, globalization, geopolitics, and foreign policy.

Previously, the KPU determined the three pairs of the presidential and vice presidential candidates, namely the pair Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar with serial number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka with number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD with number 3.

The KPU has also scheduled the campaign period from November 28, 2023 to February 10, 2024, with the voting day on February 14, 2024.
