PAN wants to join without any conditions, because we respect Jokowi-Ma'ruf as the winner of the 2019 Presidential Election. They get the mandate from the people, who consider it better to lead Indonesia in the next five years.
Deputy General Chairperson of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Bara Hasibuan expressed his party's intent to join the Joko Widodo-Ma'ruf Amin Government's coalition without any conditions.

Hasibuan emphasized that PAN had high respect for President-elect Jokowi and Vice President-elect Ma'ruf, who had emerged victorious in the 2019 Presidential Election and won the Indonesian people's mandate.

"The PAN is interested in joining without any conditions, as we respect Jokowi-Ma'ruf as the winners of the 2019 Presidential Election. They won the mandate of the people, who consider it better to lead Indonesia in the next five years," Hasibuan remarked at the Parliament Complex here, Tuesday.

He stressed that Indonesia adheres to a presidential system, so Jokowi has the prerogative to form a cabinet and appoint people in ministerial positions as presidential aides.

He remarked that it is the president-elect's prerogative if he is looking to bring in other political parties to join the government to become stronger and not an issue while judging that there is no need for additional parties in the coalition.

"Hence, we are aware of this fact, and we do not propose any conditions. The idea of 55-45 'power sharing' is contrary to the presidential system," he noted.

He stated that the idea of "power sharing" of 55-45 percent of the votes was in the name of the group, while the Prabowo-Sandi BPN coalition had been dissolved.

Hasibuan noted that the PAN was keen to join hands to help the Jokowi-Ma'ruf Government in responding to various challenges facing Indonesia and fulfilling campaign promises.
