The Jakarta Police have said an investigation order letter (SPDP) for Prabowo Subianto, who was reported to the police for allegedly treasonous behavior with Eggi Sudjana, has been revoked because the timing was not correct for issuing the letter.

Spokesman of the Jakarta Police, Senior Commissioner Argo Yuwono, said here on Tuesday that the letter sent to the Jakarta High Prosecutors' Office was delivered too early, because officials first needed to investigate the background before the issuance of the SPDP.

"After being analyzed, now is not the right time for the SPDP to be issued. We have not investigated its background, including testimonies of the suspects (on treason). It's being processed by another deputy, which is why we revoked the SPDP," he said.

The investigation order letter was issued based upon testimony by other treason suspects, including Eggi Sudjana and Lieus Sungkharisma, while they were being interrogated.

"It means that the letter was issued based upon statements from the suspects who mentioned his name. Hence, we first need to make an investigation about these testimonies. So, we are revoking the issued SPDP. Or, it's not the right time yet, and we do not need to issue the SPDP right now," Senior Commissioner Argo Yuwono said.

"However, it's only the SPDP of Prabowo which is being revoked, while the others continue to be processed," he said.

Earlier, the SPDP letter, dated May 17, 2019, detailing the Jakarta Police investigation of alleged treason by Eggi Sudjana and others, including Prabowo Subianto, went viral on social media.

Political activist and lawyer Eggi Sudjana, and Lieus Sungkharisma, are currently being detained by the Jakarta Police.

The Indonesian Police have raised the national security alert to the highest level, in line with the General Election Commission (KPU) declaring the election results in the early hours of Tuesday.

The KPU, on Tuesday, at 1:28 a.m. local time, announced the results of the presidential elections organized across the country's 34 provinces and 130 overseas offices, on April 17, 2019.

Final results indicated that Joko Widodo secured 85,607,362 votes, or 55.50 percent, while rival pair Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno earned 68,650,239 votes, or 44.50 percent.

Joko Widodo has declared victory, while Prabowo Subianto refused to accept the results, claiming that the election was marred by fraud.

Prabowo Subianto's supporters plan to hold a mass protest, or "people power" demonstration, on May 22.

Initiators of the "people power" movement are being sought by police, as the planned mass protest is considered treasonous.
