This is neither a matter of winning or losing, nor is it about personal or individual issues, but it is a matter of principle, specifically the sovereignty and rights of the people that are viewed as being impinged upon.
Presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto has appealed to his supporters to not resort to violence while holding rallies related to the results of the 2019 Presidential Election.

Prabowo has made assurance that his supporters harbor no intent of committing treason or going against the Constitution.

"I am optimistic that your actions or activities would run in the spirit of peace. Hence, (the rallies) will be held in a constitutional and democratic manner and remain peaceful without any incidents of violence," Prabowo stated in a video delivered by the National Winning Body (BPN) team early on Tuesday.

Prabowo wad admittedly concerned about alleged frauds in the 2019 Presidential Election, though he believes his supporters must conduct and express themselves within the corridor of applicable law.

He affirmed that the people's rights to publicly express their opinions, congregate, organize, and voice their aspirations must be carried out in line with the pertinent legal provisions.

"This is neither a matter of winning or losing, nor is it about personal or individual issues, but a matter of principle, specifically the people's sovereignty and rights that are being viewed as being impinged upon," he remarked.

Prabowo also appealed to the law enforcement apparatus to safeguard the entire community, particularly his supporters, who would convey their rights to express opinions.

Prabowo reiterated that neither he nor his supporters harbored any intent to commit treason and violate the law in echoing these aspirations.

"In particular, we are keen to secure and uphold the law, truth, and justice. Say the truth is right and the wrong is wrong," he emphasized.

Prabowo said his supporters also comprised several former soldiers, who were well aware of the meaning and repercussions of war and violence, but his side was not in favor of any form of violence in the Indonesian political life.

While concluding his speech, Prabowo called on his supporters to avoid becoming incited and emotionally charged to commit acts.

"If (you are) provoked, I beg you to not react to (the provocation). It is hard even if you are beaten, do not retort. A knight must bear a heavy burden. Warriors have a difficult path to tread, and they should not be afraid of trials," he affirmed.
